Retreat Fees

Rs. 300/- per participants

Fees includes food and lodging charges from 29/11/09 evening to 5/12/09 morning.

 

Important Rules to know while being on the retreat:

 

1. You will have to participate for full time in the retreat. Part time permission will not be allowed in the retreat.

2. You will have to practice five percepts according to Buddhism while being on the retreat.

3. Participants should keep away himself/herself from outside communication and contact and should spend whole time in retreat are.

4. One should not take any type of drugs, tobacco and smoke while being on the retreat.

5. There will be no safe arrangements for keeping your valuable things like jewellery, camera, mobile phone, etc. Therefore please do not bring any expensive things in the retreat with you.

6. If you find any difficulties or need help then please contact the organizers.

7. There will be no supply of blankets in the retreat, therefore please bring your own blankets and warm clothes with you.

8. Retreat fees is not refundable after booking.

Learning The Truth

If we have no satisfactory teacher, then we should take the teachings of Buddha (i.e. Dhamma) and practice it in our life. Buddha’s teaching, when rightly understood and followed, will bring welfare and happiness for a long time. There are numerous teachings of Buddha on each and every aspects of life. Buddhas teaching was based on his own observation of the way things are really are. His teachings (Dhamma) can be checked and verified by any person irrespective of any caste, religion, man or women, any time, any place. Buddhas teaching are very noble and their practice will leads todays world to peace and harmony.

Mangala Sutta -- Great Discourse on Blessings (A guide for life's journey)
Sigalovada Sutta --- Code of discipline for a common man.
Kalama Sutta --- Encouragement of free inquiry
Karaniya Metta Sutta ---Loving Kindness Discourse

We will be discussing these 4 suttas in the coming days one by one. The main aim will be comparing these suttas with the current situation of todays world. Each suttas will be disscussed for 15 to 30 days in details. Everyone from all over are invited to participate, they can post comments or write article based on the current topics.
